Faith. Family. Foundation.
Thank you for your volunteering and/or working at St. Therese School, and your gift of working with our children! Please read the following from the Diocese of Paterson to complete the required Virtus certification steps which must be completed prior to your service.
We believe that our school and related agencies must ensure a safe environment. All school volunteers, chaperones, and employees are included in this important Safe Environment Policy. In conjunction with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Diocese of Paterson requires all volunteers, contractors, employees who have REGULAR contact with children, minors or vulnerable adults be approved to volunteer/work by completing ALL OF following steps:
The process to complete these requirements has been streamlined into one registration interface. Before you begin, be sure you are using either a laptop or desktop computer, not a cell/smartphone. Once you start the process you must complete it; do not pause at any point or the system will time out.
1. Visit www.virtusonline.org to begin the registration process and click “FIRST TIME REGISTRANT”.
2. Select Organization: Paterson-Child Protection (Diocese)
3. Select Location: St. Therese School
Any questions or concerns related specifically to St. Therese School Virtus Certification, please contact Suzanne Verba-Hopkins (Local Youth Protection Coordinator) in the STS Main Office at 973.584.0812 x102 or via EMAIL.
*Volunteers: If a family member with a different "STS Family" last name is registering with Virtus to volunteer at St. Therese School e.g. grandparent, relative, please email the Main Office with the name of the person registering so that their registration can be recognized as affiliated and approved. *Contractors: If you are registering for a contracted extra-curricular activity, please have your STS coordinator provide your name and activity to the Main Office as described above so your registration is not denied as unknown/not affiliated with the School.
