Grades 4-8

Students at St. Therese School are invited to join the Robotics team based on scores from their Tera Nova testing. Each year, we have a number of students that accept the invitation and compete in the FLL competition. For the past few years this competition has been held at Lafayette Middle School in December.

The St. Therese School Robotics team was initially formed in 2013. Our Club starts to meet in September on every Sunday, even after competition so we can have the students understand more; from programming to presentation skills. During our class time, we will have some FLL Mentors stop by to help our students. This Club is meant to have our children learn, problem solve and enjoy working with their peers to complete the tasks.

During the competition, each team is required to choose a topic they are passionate about and have always wanted to learn about. Then they need to create an innovative solution that improves the learning experience. They also share their solutions with others and build, test, and program an autonomous robot using a LEGO MINDSTORMS® set to solve missions on an obstacle course.
